With the continual advancement in all aspects of dentistry, aesthetics remains at the forefront for the patient.  More than in the past, today’s patients are much more educated about the treatment options available as a result of the availability of information from the internet, publications, or the television. Predictability in aesthetics should be the objective of the dentist whether he's doing a single unit crown, six anterior porcelain laminate veneers, or a full mouth rehabilitation involving either natural teeth or implants. Only through a systematic approach can the dentist expect to obtain a predictable aesthetic outcome.

This program will review the critical steps that will enable you to get a predictable aesthetic result in any type of restorative treatment.

  • A thorough review of the aesthetic evaluation
  • A systematic review of all of the steps needed to take a case from beginning to end in a predictable fashion.   Each step will be discussed in detail with an emphasis on new procedures used to transfer critical information throughout the treatment to enable predictability. (diagnostic wax up, matrices, preparation, provisionals, impressions, laboratory procedures, delivery, etc.)
  • A thorough discussion of the steps needed to fabricate a complete aesthetic and functional wax up. (beneficial to laboratory technicians as well)
  • A thorough review of various types of cases including veneers, implants, and conventional crown and bridge.

The number one reason people go to the dentist today is to improve their smile.  Patients want to look better and today dentists can deliver results that mimic nature.  A natural result does not happen by accident.  It happens because the dentist has educated themselves about the rules, tools and strategies of esthetics.  However, delivering superior esthetics alone is not enough to insure long term success.  It takes being able to deliver restorations that function comfortably over a long period of time.  Longevity of esthetics restorations is the expected result of our patients.  Predictable longevity is achieved by a practical understanding of occlusal principles and a knowledge of how to manage the forces that exist in each individual patient.

Learning Objectives

  1. How to improve your esthetics using advanced techniques.
  2. How to know if anteriors can be lengthened without fear of breakage.
  3. How to be certain you have created stability and how to monitor that stability over time.
